A COLONIAL IRON PLANT STAND (18510)
South India, 19th century
A small iron stand with three intricately worked shelves. Each of the three shelves are supported by three long leg supports that begin at the base with a simple foot detail and terminate at the top with a simply worked animal head. The shelves are supported with clasps that run along the length of the legs. The iron is well aged and a coat of wax was applied to maintain the current patina.
