A PAIR OF CHINESE CARVED PANELS WITH DARK LACQUER (18496-7)

A pair of grids constructed of nanmu, camphor and fir, the frame with three sections of carving. The top and bottom relief carvings are pierced and of an object within a scrollwork pattern. The center panel is a clean detailed, vine scrolling pattern of dragon’s and phoenix’s. The panels were originally inset as doors or side panels of a larger cabinet or door frame, they retain some of the original lacquer details. (Contemporary hooks for mounting)
